HOTEL RESORT NEAR MILITARY POLYGON `SLUNJ.`

Project in concession:
The military polygon `Eugen Kvaternik` is
the largest military training ground in the
Republic of Croatia.
Slunj is a town in the mountainous part of
Central Croatia, located along the important
North-South route to the Adriatic Sea
between Karlovac and Plitvice Lakes National
Park, on the meeting of the rivers Korana
and Slunjčica.
Slunj is famous for its little waterfalls
and the well-preserved corn mills in the
picturesque lower part of the town, called
Rastoke (referring to the branching of the
rivers). In Slunj, the Slunjčica river flows
over several waterfalls and cascades into
the Korana river. Here is also the location
of the 22 water mills of Rastoke.
The military polygon `Eugen Kvaternik` is
located on the border area of Kordun and
Lika west of Slunj , 40 km as the crow flies
south of Karlovac and 80 km east of the
river . In addition to the City Slunja
territorially located and the municipalities
Tounj the north, Cavan in the northwest,
Plaski in the west, Parliament`s in the
southwest and Crab in the southeast. It is a
rocky, limestone terrain which runs the
river retina, which is why there is
disagreement about the impact of polygons in
ecological system of the region.
Polygon covers an area of nearly 24,000
acres (240 km 2) which, besides the largest
in Croatia, and one of the largest in
Europe. In north-south direction is 28 km
long. The length of its border is 88 km. The
average altitude is 320 meters, 900 meters
high. The largest area, consisting of
forests.
Because of the good equipment and especially
because of the diversity of terrain (forest,
meadows, hills, valleys, gorges ...) `Eugen
Kvaternik` is mentioned as a future NATO
training centre. It is possible and its
commercialization by renting foreign armies.
Even before the Croatian accession to full
membership in NATO, the United States are
large funds contributed to the modernization
and equipping the training ground. During
the reconstruction of these funds is built
and water supply system not only for polygon
but for Slunj and surrounding villages.

it has restaurants, clubs and bars, an
adrenaline park, heliport, cable car that
connects the complex to the new planned
tourist settlement on the other side of the
river.
